Sety - Sweet & Sour (Circus Company)

Het sexy Parijse label Circus Compagnie heeft een nieuwkomer in de producerstal.... Sety! Al acht jaar is hij actief achter de schermen van Circus Compagnie, eindelijk brengt hij nu zijn eerste eigen EP uit: Sweet & Sour. De mooie 4-tracker begint met Mogane, een diepe housetrack met een heerlijke groove. Daarna volgt de remix van Guillaume & The Coutu Dumonts, Mogane krijgt in de remix een gospel sample en een funky bass-line. Het zonnetje begint echt te stralen wanneer van de B-kant mooie mysterieuze Braziliaanse vocals vloeien..

Joe Montana - Sol Y Sombra (8Bit)

Een stukje Ibiza op vinyl voor thuis in de Hollandse koude platenkast. Sol Y Sombra van de Italiaan Joe Montana wordt ook wel het DC10 Anthem van 2008 genoemd. Het frisse label 8Bit uit Mannheim re-released de drie tracks van Joe Montana. Een sloot funky percussie, met hier en daar housebelletjes, nu-disco en deep-house. Alle drie de tracks hebben zo hun eigen ingredienten.

Lazar - Modern Sex (Sthlm Audio)

Vroeger schoven mensen een cd-tje van Marvin Gaye erin, moderne mensen doen het op house. Op Modern Sex van Lazar zou je het in ieder geval erg goed kunnen doen. De vier warme, zwoele en stevige housetracks vallen erg in smaak bij Cassy, het Oslo team, Ripperton, Gerd Janson, Sascha Dive...Het label STHLM Audio Switzerland zag er op toe date van te voren geen promo's of geripte zipfiles werden uitgewisseld. Vers als een maagd hangt Modern Sex in het rekje hier, wie maakt haar los?

Audion - Billy Says Go (Spectral Sound)

Audion's geluid is spookachtig, als een engel des doods die door je slaapkamerraam naar binnen glijdt. Nee, klinkt niet zo zonnig inderdaad. Maar de diepe warme muur van geluid die achter de rondgalmende beat zit, maakt de groove onweerstaanbaar. Zomers hebben ook donkere nachten en Billy Says Go past daar perfect in. Net als eerdere releases van Audion (Mouth to Mouth) is Billy Says Go als promocd-tje begonnen. Al snel regende het aanvragen bij Spectral Sound, en voila de rest is geschiedenis, nu hangt hij naast Modern Sex aan de muur hier.
