THURSDAY 30TH OF AUGUST: WILDVREEMD TWO YEAR ANNIVERSARY AT SUGAR FACTORY

dj DANIEL BELL hits Amsterdam during a European tour at the Sugar Factory. Born in Sacramento California, Dan had a surprise success with his first 12' released on +8 records while still in film school near Toronto, Canada in 1990. The record was "Technarchy" co-produced by Richie Hawtin and John Aquaviva, and it spurred a move by him to the "eastside" of Detroit, Mi after graduation (the new Eminem movie “8 Mile” features a scene filmed behind his old apartment). After touring and recording extensively throughout 1991 and 1992, including a 38-date American tour opening for Moby and The Prodigy, Daniel left +8 to start his own company, Accelerate Communications in 1992. On Accelerate he released a small string of influential releases. Based on Chicago "track" records, he reduced that sound further into funky, streamlined grooves. The formula proved successful and helped launch a new aesthetic in techno and house music known as "minimal". RICHARD PARKER and again the party duo that started madness in and around Vreemd will be here again to rock some booty.

Zaterdag 1 september MAD2 @ 11, Jennifer Cardini & Shonky, Mal Borrowed & Frei Bauwerker

MAD2 keert terug in de 11 met een favoriet van de organisatie, de Franse DJ Jennifer Cardini. Na een denderend optreden in de Sugar Factory 2 jaar geleden werd het tijd om haar terug te vragen voor een MAD2 editie in de 11. Deze stoere tomboy staat met ballen achter de draaitafels en draait van Minimal naar House, van Electro naar Techno. Ze weert geen enkele stijl maar maakt er 1 hypnotiserend geheel van. Genieten. Ze heeft jarenlange ervaring en was er vanaf de grondlegging van de techno in Frankrijk bij.
Momenteel is ze ondermeer resident bij de Parijse clubs Le Pulp en de Rex, en de Nitsa in Barcelona en vliegt de hele wereld over.

Naast draaien is ze ook druk als producer, zo heeft ze onder andere gereleased op Crosstownrebels en Kill The DJ. Produceren doet ze ook in samenwerking met andere producers. Een vast studiomaatje van haar is de jonge Fransman Shonky. Ook hij zal aanwezig zijn tijdens MAD2 in de 11, voor hem is dat zijn Nederlandse debuut. Samen hebben ze gereleased op het label van Anja Schneider Mobilee en Crosstown Rebels. Alleen zit Shonky ook niet stil. Zijn tracks zijn uitgekomen op vooraanstaande labels als Resopal Red, Substatic en het sexy Franse label Freak 'n Chic. Shonky is hot op dit moment, dat blijkt wel uit zijn remixes voor o.a. Tiefschwarz en zijn vele buitenlandse gigs op de grote festivals en clubs deze zomer.

Mal Borrowed & Frei Bauwerker a.k.a. Sandrien & Carlos Valdes zullen de avond opwarmen. Ook deze twee boeken samen steeds meer succes. Zo hebben ze deze zomer afzonderlijk maar ook samen op festivals als Welcome To The Future, Loveland, Free Your Mind, Lowlands, Rockit & The Source gestaan komen ze eind augustus in de Bar25 te staan in Berlijn.
